The history of Villa Isolani

Set deep in a verdant, over seven hectare park, the Villa is the Isolani family’s historic country residence. The whole building in Bologna neoclassical style was modernised in 1805 on the occasion of Napoleon’s visit to Bologna. The two side wings were added and the great park, formerly in eighteenth century Bologna style, was transformed into an exquisite romantic park with woods and winding footpaths by celebrated architect and landscape designer Sambuy.

This luxuriant, wild but never unruly vegetation is the perfect backdrop to open air weddings, wedding receptions, lunches and summer gala dinners with a large pavilion which can host up to 300 people and provides convenient shelter from the elements.

And it is not ideal simply for romantic dates but also for conferences, congresses, concerts and any other event you want to make truly unforgettable.

The villa also has six rooms frescoed in Pompeian style which can host up to two hundred seated guests. For large events such as conventions or dances, weddings and receptions, further gazebos can be set up hosting a grand total of 2000 people.
