Montevecchio Isolani Wines

The
Montevecchio Isolani vineyards are located 210 mt. above sea level on a hillside of the
Appennino Emiliano, in a clay-sandy sedimentary soil that originally was the sea floor. The North-Eastern exposure, while ensuring great luminosity, preserves the vineyards from exceeding summer heats, and enables a slow ripening of bunches and the highest concentration of flavour and zest. The proprietor and his team personally attend to the vineyards, starting with planting, through all the working phases, from pruning to picking. The main pruning’s goal is to reduce the vintage, in order to have better quality, while summer pruning removes excessive vegetation that could shade the grapes.

Integrated Pest Management is performed strictly following the
European Union Disciplinare of Lotta Integrata, with non-toxic and easy-metabolizable products, always at the minimum doses, to make sure that no traces remain on the bunches by harvest time. The grape harvest is carried out by hand, waiting for the perfect ripeness of each grape variety, and choosing only the best bunches, which are swiftly carried to the winery.
