Vineyards and cellars

The Montevecchio cellars were dug in sandstone at the end of the XVI century, while the Palazzo Senatorio was being built; since then, these cellars have kept – and still do – the precious Montevecchio wines. The winery’s equipment is ment to transform grapes in wine while preserving the top quality in flavours and maintaining fullness and persistence of tastes. A soft press ensures the utmost respect of White grapes, while a variable speed grape-stalk stripper separates Red grapes from stalks without tearing the skins. Le  cantine di Montevecchio IsolaniBarrels, fermenters and autoclaves in stainless steel guarantee absolute hygiene during the pressing, fermenting and settling process of musts, and allow to check the temperature during all working phases, preserving in this way all the fragrances and flavours of grapes. The collection of barrels and kegs, holding altogether a little more than 5000 lt., allow the perfect mellowing of  our outstanding Red Wines.
