Montevecchio Isolani Restaurant

In the seventeenth-century Villa Torre, there is the “Agriturismo” (farm-based) restaurant. It consists of two rooms created from the restoration of the cellar and the connecting loggia. The first, of particular size, restored in the loggia, leads into the garden through two large arched glass doors. Through a wide serving hatch, the old kitchen is visible, refurbished to accommodate modern equipment, but maintaining the original fireplace for grilling meat. There is seating for about twenty-five people.
The second room, with a particularly warm atmosphere thanks to its materials – a beamed ceiling with terracotta tiles and the original floor – can hold about thirty-five people. In warm weather, a covered space for about forty people is prepared in the garden, with an atmospheric view of the plains and Bologna. An ideal space for banquets, confirmations, first communions, weddings and other festive occasions.
Apart from the organisation’s own produce, the kitchen uses a lot of typical PDO (Protected Denomination of Origin) and IGT (Typical Geographic Indication) products of the region. The olive oil is produced near Rome in another farm belonging to the Cavazza family. The dishes are typical of the Bolognese tradition, accompanied by excellent D.O.C. wines from the Bolognese hills, such as Pignoletto Frizzante, Classico and Cabernet produced by the family’s vineyards.

The restaurant will be close from 11/10/2010 to 01/04/2011. It will open just for groups on reservation.
