Hospitality of Holiday Farm Montevecchio Isolani
THE "TORRE"
The Torre is situated 400 metres from the asphalt road, between the vineyards and a large wood, and offers a spectacular view of the plain and the town of Bologna in the distance. It is a brick farmhouse, probably built during the second part of the XVIII century, following the typical design of the famous Bolognese architect Dotti, who so deeply influenced the style of the sharecropping houses in our province: a square plan and two floors with a passing loggia at the ground floor. The loggia and the old cellar at the ground floor now accommodate the restaurant of the Agriturismo where we serve all the typical Bolognese dishes and the special products of the farm – like the beef barbecued on the old kitchen fireplace – together with our excellent wines.
At the first floor, preserving the original structure and using only period furniture, we arranged:
THE "COLMO"
The Colmo, situated 300 metres from both the Torre and the asphalt road, lies in a position particularly full of charm, surrounded by ancient woods and a large lawn from which the view of the plain is memorable. Here the only audible noises are bird songs, and from the window you’ll probably happen to see squirrels and dormice playing on the huge oaks around the house. The building dates back to the beginning of last century, and, preserving the original architecture, has been furnished with XIX century pieces and divided into:
-
a twin bedroom with bathroom
-
a suite, at the first floor, consisting of a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a living-room with cooking area and a sleeping loft with two sofa single beds
-
two independent twin bedrooms with shared bathroom accessible to disabled, the whole utilizable as a suite
